Gur chakku eases on reduced offtake

Gur chakku prices eased by Rs 100 per quintal in an otherwise steady wholesale gur (Jaggery) market today due to reduced offtake against adequate stocks position.

Marketmen said besides reduced offtake by retailers and stockists, adequate stocks position mainly kept pressure on gur chakku prices.

In the national capital, gur chakku declined by Rs 100 to Rs 3,000-3,100 per quintal.

Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):

Gur chakku 3,000-3,100, pedi 3,400-3,500, pedi new Rs 3,500-3,600, dhayya new 3800 and shakkar 3,500-3,600.

Muzaffarnagar: Rasket 2,650-2,700 chakku 2,650-2,750, khurpa N.A. And Ladoo N.A.

Muradnagar: Pedi 3,225-3,250 and dhayya 3,250-3,300.
