Gur chakku prices rise in Delhi, Muzaffarnagar

In an otherwise steady gur (Jaggery) market, gur chakku prices rose by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today following increased buying support.

Muzaffarnagar gur markets also witnessed a rise of Rs 50 per quintal in gur chakku on pick-up in demand.

Elsewhere, other gur varieties ruled quiet on sporadic demand.

Marketmen said fresh buying support mainly pushed up gur chakku prices in Delhi and Muzaffarnagar.

In Delhi, gur Chakku gained Rs 100 to finish at Rs 2,800-2,900 per quintal.

Muzaffarnagar gur markets also showed a firming trend in gur chakku prices and rose by Rs 50 to trade at Rs 2,525-2,850 per quintal.
 

Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):

Gur chakku Rs 2,800-2,900, pedi Rs 2,800-2,900, dhayya Rs 3,000-3,100 and shakkar Rs 3,100-3,200.

Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,650-2,700, chakku Rs 2,525-2,850, khurpa Rs 2,450-2,525 and Ladoo Rs 2,650-2,750.

Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,500-2,550 and dhayya Rs 2,550-2,575.
