Barring a spurt of Rs 100 per quintal in gur chakku prices on speculative buying by stockists and retailers, driven by paucity of stocks, other gur varities ruled steady at the wholesale gur (Jaggery) market in the national capital today.
Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets also showed a steady trend on little doing.
Marketmen attributed rise in gur chakku prices to scarcity of stocks which triggered speculative buying by stocksists as well as bulk consumers.
