Gur chakku spurts in Delhi, gur Raskat in Muzaffarnagar

Gur Chakku prices bounced by Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today following paucity of stocks amid speculative buying by stockists and retailers.

Furthermore, strong demand from beer and cattle-feed makers attributed spurt in gur Raskat in Muzaffarnagar gur markets.

Elsewhere, other gur varieties ruled quiet on adequate stocks position in Delhi, Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar.

Marketmen said the rise in gur chakku and raskat to tight supplies from manufacturing belts because of bad wether conditions and speedy demand.

In Delhi, gur Chakku prices climbed up by Rs 100 to settle at Rs 2,800-2,900 per quintal.
 

At Muzaffarnagar, gur Raskat jumped up by Rs 50 to end at Rs 2,400-2,450 per quintal.

Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):

Gur chakku Rs 2,800-2,900, pedi Rs 2,900-3,000, dhayya Rs 3,000-3,100 and shakkar Rs 3,100-3,200.

Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,400-2,450, chakku Rs 2,500-2,750, khurpa Rs 2,400-2,450 and Ladoo Rs 2,550-2,700.

Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,600-2,650 and dhayya Rs 2,600-2,650.
