Prices of gur (jaggery) rose by up to Rs 250 with per quintal today at the wholesale gur market in the national capital on increased offtake by retailers and stockists against tight supplies.
A similar trend was also depicted at the Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets.
Marketmen said besides increased offtake by retailers and stockists to meet seasonal demand, fall in supplies on less productions at the producing belts mainly led to rise in gur prices.

In Delhi, gur chakku, pedi and dhayya were up by Rs 100 each to Rs 3,000-3,100, Rs 3,200-3,300 and Rs 3,400-3,500 per quintal respectively. Shakkar also traded higher by a similar margin to Rs 3,500-3,600 per quintal.
In Muzzafarnagar, gur chakku, khurpa and laddo settled higher at Rs 2,850-3,000, Rs 2,750-2,850 and Rs 3,000-3,100 as compared to previous levels of Rs 2,600-2,850, Rs 2,550-2,650 and Rs 2,850-3,000 per quintal, respectively.
In line with overall trend, gur pedi and dhayya in Muradnagar, too ended higher at Rs 2,900-3,000 and Rs 3,100-3,150 against last close of Rs 2,750-2,800 and Rs 2,900-2,950 per quintal.

Gur chakku Rs 3,000-3,100, pedi Rs 3,200-3,300, dhayya Rs 3,400-3,500 and shakkar Rs 3,500-3,600.
Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,600-2,650, chakku Rs 2,850-3,000, khurpa Rs 2,750-2,850 and Ladoo Rs 3,000-3,100.
Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,900-3,000 and dhayya Rs 3,100-3,150.
