Gur closes flat in range-bound trade

Steady conditions prevailed at the wholesale gur (jaggery) market today with prices hovering in a narrow range in the absence of buying support.

Muzzafarnagar and Muradnagar mandis also ended flat.

Marketmen said adequate stocks position against lack of buying support from stockists kept gur prices at last levels.

Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):

Gur chakku Rs 2,800-2,900, pedi Rs 2,950-3,100, dhayya Rs 3,100-3,200 and shakkar Rs 3,500-3,600.

Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,400-2,450, chakku Rs 2,500- 2,800, khurpa Rs 2,400-2,500 and Ladoo Rs 2,800-2,850.

Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,650-2700 and dhayya Rs 2,700-2,750.
