Gur (jaggery) prices drifted lower by Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today due to sluggish demand against increased arrivals.

Meanwhile, Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets remained steady on little doing.

Marketmen said weak demand along with increased supplies from mills particularly dragged down gur prices in Delhi.

In Delhi, gur Pedi and Dhayya prices slipped by Rs 100 each to conclude at Rs 4,000-4,100 and Rs 4,100-4,200 per quintal, respectively.

Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):

Gur chakku Rs 3,900-4,000, pedi Rs 4,000-4,100, dhayya Rs 4,100-4,200 and shakkar Rs 4,300-4,400.
