Gur closes steady on scattered buying

The wholesale gur (Jaggery) market displayed a steady trend today with prices after moving in a tight range on some enquiries, closed at previous levels.

Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets also concluded at previous levels on some demand from local parties.

Marketmen said scattered demand and adequate stocks position mainly helped gur prices to close at previous levels.

Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):

Gur chakku Rs 2,600-2,700, pedi Rs 2,850-2,950, dhayya Rs 3,000-3,100 and shakkar Rs 3,100-3,200.

Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,200-2,250, chakku Rs 2,300-2,600, khurpa Rs 2,300-2,400 and Ladoo Rs 2,400-2,600.

Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,400-2,500 and dhayya Rs 2,500-2,550.
