Gur dips on ample stock, weak demand

Gur chakku prices dropped by Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale gur (jaggery) market in the national capital today following ample stocks amid sluggish demand.

Muradnagar gur market also showed a fall of up to Rs 100 per quintal on paucity of demand.

Marketmen said apart from huge ready stocks, weak demand mainly pulled down gur prices in Delhi and Muzaffar nagar.

In Delhi, gur Chakku prices slipped by Rs 100 to close at Rs 2,600-2,700 per quintal.

At Muzaffarnagar, gur Khurpa prices declined by Rs 100 to end at Rs 2,100-2,250 per quintal.

Gur Laddoo and Chakku prices also fell from Rs 2,400-2,600 and Rs 2,400-2,500 to end at Rs 2,350-2,500 and Rs 2,350-2,450 per quintal.
 

Gur Raskat prices also finished lower by Rs 50 to conclude at Rs 2,050-2,100 per quintal on sluggish beer makers demand.

Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):

Gur chakku Rs 2,600-2,700, pedi Rs 2,600-2,700, dhayya Rs 2,800-2,900 and shakkar Rs 2,900-3,000.

Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,050-2,100, chakku Rs 2,300-2,500, khurpa Rs 2,100-2,250 and Ladoo Rs 2,350- 2,450.

Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,200-2,300 and dhayya Rs 2,250-2,350.
