Gur ends flat

There was not much activity at the wholesale gur (jaggery) market in the national capital today as prices continued to move in a tight range and settled around previous levels.

Marketmen said trading activity restricted largely in view of tight funds position following government's move to withdraw notes of higher denominations, influenced sentiment.

Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):

Gur chakku Rs 3,000-3,100, pedi Rs 3,200-3,300, dhayya Rs 3,400-3,500 and shakkar Rs 3,500-3,600.

Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,500-2,600, chakku Rs 2,600-2,900, khurpa Rs 2,550-2,650 and Ladoo Rs 2,900-3,000.

Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,850-2,900 and dhayya Rs 2,950-3,000.
