Gur ends flat at Delhi; down in Muradnagar

The wholesale gur (jaggery) market in the national capital today closed on a steady note with prices moving in a narrow range in limited deals and pegged at last levels.

On the other hand, gur prices in Muradnagar, receded on muted demand against sufficient stocks position.

Traders said besides fall in demand, prevailing tight funds position following government's move to withdraw notes of higher denominations, led to decline in gur prices in Muradnagar.

At Muradnagar, gur pedi and dhayya prices drifted lower by Rs 50 each to Rs 2,800-2,850 and Rs 2,900-2,950 per quintal respectively.

Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):
 

Gur chakku Rs 3,100-3,200, pedi Rs 3,200-3,300, dhayya Rs 3,400-3,500 and shakkar Rs 3,600-3,700.

Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,500-2,600, chakku Rs 2,700-2,900, khurpa Rs 2,600-2,650 and Ladoo Rs 2,900-3,000.

Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,800-2,850 and dhayya Rs 2,900-2,950.
