Gur ends flat in Delhi, Chakku rises in Muzaffarnagar

Steady conditions revealed at the wholesale gur (Jaggery) market in the national capital today as prices ended at last levels after moving in a tight range on scattered buying and selling.

On the other hand, Muzaffarnagar gur market showed better trend with gur chakku prices rising by Rs 100 on the back of paucity of stocks.

Marketmen said scarcity of stocks mainly pushed up gur chakku prices in Muzaffarnagar markets.

Elsewhere, other gur varieties in Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar ruled quiet on little doings.

In Muzaffarnagar, gur chakku gained from Rs 2,350-2,500 to finish at Rs 2,400-2,600 per quintal.

Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):
 

Gur chakku Rs 2,700-2,800, pedi Rs 2,800-2,900, dhayya Rs 3,000-3,100 and shakkar Rs 3,000-3,100.

Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,500-2,600, chakku Rs 2,300-2,600, khurpa Rs N.T. And Ladoo Rs N.T.

Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,500-2,550 and dhayya Rs N.T.
