Gur prices drifted down at the wholesale gur (jaggery) market in the national capital today on sluggish local demand against sufficient stocks position.

However, Muzzafanagar and Muradngar mandies ended flat in thin trade.

Marketmen said subdued local demand against ample stocks position on increased supplies from producing belts mainly led to decline in gur prices.

Weak trend in sugar prices also cast its shadow on gur prices, they said.

At Delhi, gur chakku and pedi settled lower at Rs 2,700- 2,800 and Rs 2,900-3,000 from previous levels of Rs 2,800- 2,900 and Rs 2,950-3,100 per quintal, respectively.
