Gur ends muted in thin trade

The wholesale gur (jaggery) market ended steady in the national capital today with prices by and large after hovering either side on alternate bouts of buying and selling, settling at last levels.

Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets also ended without any change in prices in the absence of buying support.

Marketmen said restricted arrivals and sluggish demand hold gur prices unaltered.

Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):

Gur chakku Rs 3,500-3,600, pedi Rs 3,700-3,800, dhayya Rs 3,800-3,900 and shakkar Rs 4,000-4,100.

Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,575-2,625, chakku Rs 3,100- 3,200, khurpa Rs N.Q. And Ladoo Rs 3,250-3,300.

Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 3,350-3,400 and dhayya Rs 3,400- 3,450.
