Gur ends quiet at the wholesale market

Quiet conditions persisted at the wholesale gur (Jaggery) market in the national capital today after prices moving both ways on alternate bouts of buying and selling, settled at last levels.

Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets also settled at previous levels in thin trade.

Marketmen said sporadic demand and adequate stocks in the market, mainly held gur prices at last levels.

Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):

Gur chakku Rs 3,100-3,200, pedi Rs 3,100-3,200, dhayya Rs 3,400-3,500 and shakkar Rs 3,500-3,600.

Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,500-2,600, chakku Rs 2,750-3,000, khurpa Rs 2,600-2,650 and Ladoo Rs 2,900-3,000.

Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,750-2,800 and dhayya Rs 2,850-2,900.
