Gur ends quiet in Delhi, declines in Muzaffarnagar

Gur (Jaggery) prices remained unchanged at the wholesale market in the national capital today following scattered buying amid restricted arrivals.

On the other hand, at Muzaffarnagar gur showed a fall of Rs 50 per quintal in its prices due to muted demand following offseason.

Marketmen said besides adequate stocks, sluggish demand in view of offseason, particularly pulled down gur prices in Muzaffarnagar.

In Muzaffarnagar, gur Chakku prices slipped by Rs 50 to end at Rs 2,950-3,250 per quintal.

Gur Khurpa prices drifted lower by Rs 50 to Rs 2,950- 3,000, gur Laddoo prices also looked down by Rs 50 to end at Rs 3,200-3,250 per quintal.
 

Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):

Gur chakku Rs 3,500-3,600, pedi Rs 3,600-3,700, dhayya Rs 3,700-3,800 and shakkar Rs 3,900-4,000.

Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,650-2,700, chakku Rs 2,950-3,250, khurpa Rs 2,950-3,000 and Ladoo Rs 3,200-3,250.

Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 3,150-3,250 and dhayya Rs 3,300-3,350.
