Gur ends steady in Delhi; down in Muzzafarnagar, Muradnagar

The wholesale gur (jaggery) market in the national capital ended on a flat note today as prices continued to move in a tight range on scattered deals and settled at the last levels.

However, gur prices in Muzzafarnagar and Muradngar mandies ended lower on muted demand against adequate stocks position.

At Delhi, gur chakku and pedi moved in a narrow range in limited deals and settled at last levels of Rs 3,200-3,300 each per quintal. Dhayya and shakkar followed suit and maintained a steady trend at Rs 3,400-3,500 and Rs 3,500-3,600 per quintal.

On the other hand, at Muzzafarnagar, gur chakku and khurpa eased to Rs 2,750-2,950 and Rs 2,650-2,750 from last close of Rs 2,800-2,950 and Rs 2,750-2,800 per quintal, respectively.
 

In Muradnagar, gur pedi and dhayya also enquired lower at Rs 2,900-2,950 and Rs 2,950-3,000 from previous levels of Rs 2,950-3,000 and Rs 3,000-3,050 per quintal, respectively.

Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):

Gur chakku Rs 3,200-3,300, pedi Rs 3,200-3,300, dhayya Rs 3,400-3,500 and shakkar Rs 3,500-3,600.

Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,550-2,600, chakku Rs 2,750-2,950, khurpa Rs 2,650-2,750 and Ladoo Rs 2,900-2,950.

Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,900-2,950 and dhayya Rs 2,950-3,000.
