Quiet conditions emerged at the wholesale gur (Jaggery) market in the national capital today as prices continued to move in a tight range in the absence of worthwhile activity and settled at previous levels.

On the other hand, gur chakku prices fell by Rs 100 per quintal in Muradnagar gur market owing to low demand.

Elsewhere, other gur varieties in Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar remained unchanged in thin trade.

Marketmen said weak demand and increased arrivals of gur chakku at Muradnagar, mainly pulled down the prices.

In Muradnagar, gur chakku prices edged lower by Rs 100 to end at Rs 2,450-2,550 per quintal.

Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):

Gur chakku Rs 2,800-2,900, pedi Rs 3,000-3,100, dhayya Rs 3,100-3,200 and shakkar Rs 3,100-3,200.

Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,700-2,750, chakku Rs 2,450-2,550, khurpa Rs N.T. And Ladoo Rs N.T.

Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,650-2,700 and dhayya Rs NT.
