Press Trust of India New Delhi
Gur (Jaggery) prices declined by Rs 100 per quintal in the wholesale market today, mainly dragged down by rising inventories following heavy supplies of new gur stocks.

Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets too depicted a weak trend and prices fell up to Rs 250 per quintal.

According to marketmen, rising stocks following arrivals of new gur stocks, mainly led to the fall in gur prices.

In national capital, gur Chakku, Pedi, Dhayya and Shakkar prices slipped Rs 100 each to end at Rs 2,600-2,700, Rs 2,700-2,800, Rs 2,900-3,000 and Rs 3,000-3,100 per quintal, respectively.

At Muradnagar, gur Dhayya and Pedi prices plunged up to Rs 200 each to conclude at Rs 2,400-2,500 and Rs 2,350-2,400 per quintal.

Coming to Muzaffarnagar, prices of Khurpa and Laddoo quoted lower by Rs 50 each at Rs 2,300-2,400 and Rs 2,500-2,600 per quintal.
