Gur pedi declines in Delhi, Khurpa falls in Muzaffarnagar

Sugar pedi declined by Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today following weak demand amid fresh supplies.

Muzaffarnagar gur market also showed a fall of Rs 100 per quintal in gur khurpa prices on sluggish demand amid increased arrivals.

Marketmen said fresh arrivals from manufacturing belts along with slackness in demand caused the fall in gur pedi prices at Delhi, while a drop in Muzaffarnagar.

In Delhi, gur pedi prices lost Rs 100 to end at Rs 3,000-,3,100 per quintal.

At Muzaffarnagar, gur khurpa prices fell from Rs 2,750-2,775 to end at Rs 2,650-2,700 per quintal.
 

Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):

Gur chakku Rs 3,200-3,300, pedi Rs 3,000-3,100, dhayya Rs 3,300-3,400 and shakkar Rs 3,500-3,600.

Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,550-2,600, chakku Rs 2,875-3,000, khurpa Rs 2,650-2,700 and Ladoo Rs 2,900-2,950.

Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,700-2,750 and dhayya Rs 2,800-2,850.
