In an otherwise steady gur (jaggery) market, pedi prices came down by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today, following heavy stocks amid muted demand.
Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets, however, remained steady in thin trade.
Marketmen said mounting stocks on increased supplies from manufacturing belts along with sluggish demand from stockists and retailers, led to the fall in gur Pedi prices in Delhi.
In Delhi, gur Pedi prices dived by Rs 100 to conclude the day at Rs 3,300-3,400 per quintal.
Elsewhere, other gur varieties in Delhi, Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar maintained at their last closing levels.
Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):
Gur chakku Rs 3,300-3,400, pedi Rs 3,600-3,700, dhayya Rs 3,700-3,800 and shakkar Rs 3,800-3,900.
