Gur pedi prices up on seasonal demand, negligible arrivals

Gur pedi prices advanced by Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today following restricted arrivals amid seasonal demand.

Elsewhere, other gur varieties including Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar traded flat at sporadic demand.

Marketmen said restricted arrivals from manufacturing belts due to adverse weather conditions along with pick-up in demand due to ongoing winter season particularly pushed up gur pedi in Delhi.

In Delhi, gur pedi prices enquired higher by Rs 100 to finish at Rs 3,400-3,500 per quintal.

Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):

Gur chakku Rs 3,300-3,400, pedi Rs 3,400-3,500, dhayya Rs 3,600-3,700 and shakkar Rs 3,700-3,800.
 

Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,650-2,700, chakku Rs 2,950-3,100, khurpa Rs 2,900-2,950 and Ladoo Rs 3,100-3,150.

Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,925-3,000 and dhayya Rs 3,000-3,050.
