Gur price rises in Delhi, Muzaffarnagar

Gur prices spurted by Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale gur (Jaggery) market in the national capital today following paucity of stocks amid better offtake.

Muzaffarnagar gur market also depicted a rising trend on fresh buying support amid negligible arrivals.

Marketmen said fall in arrivals from manufacturing belts due to adverse weather conditions amid pick up in demand mainly pushed up gur prices in Delhi and Muzaffarnagar.

In Delhi, gur Chakku, Dhayya and Shakkar prices hardened by Rs 100 each to end at Rs 3,300-3,400, Rs 3,600-3,700 and Rs 3,700-3,800 per quintal.

At Muzaffarnagar, gur Chakku price advanced by Rs 50 to close at Rs 2,950-3,100 instead of Rs 2,900-3,100 per quintal.
 

Prices of gur Raskat also moved higher by Rs 50 to Rs 2,650-2,700 per quintal on increased offtake by beer makers and negligible arrivals.

Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):

Gur chakku Rs 3,300-3,400, pedi Rs 3,300-3,400, dhayya Rs 3,600-3,700 and shakkar Rs 3,700-3,800.

Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,650-2,700, chakku Rs 2,950-3,100, khurpa Rs 2,900-2,950 and Ladoo Rs 3,100-3,150.

Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,925-3,000 and dhayya Rs 3,000-3,050.
