Gur prices close steady in thin trade

The wholesale gur (jaggery) market settled steady in the national capital today following small buying support amid restricted supply.

Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets also pegged same on last levels in thin trade.

Marketmen said muted demand and reduced arrivals hold the gur prices at overnight levels.

Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):

Gur chakku Rs 3,200-3,300, pedi Rs 3,300-3,400, dhayya Rs 3,500-3,600 and shakkar Rs 3,600-3,700.

Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,500-2,550, chakku Rs 2,900- 3,250, khurpa Rs 2,850-2,900 and Ladoo Rs 2,950-3,000.

Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 3,000-3,050 and dhayya Rs 3,050- 3,100.
