Gur prices dip on bumper stocks

Gur prices melt by Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today following bumper stocks amid reduced demand.

Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets, prices also dropped by Rs 100 per quintal on sluggish demand amid heavy stocks position.

Marketmen said besides negligible buying by stockists and retailers, mounting stocks in the market following constant supplies, largely pulled down gur prices.

In Delhi, gur Chakku, Pedi and Dhayya prices declined by Rs 1,000 each to finish the day at Rs 2,700-2800, Rs 2,800- 2,900 and Rs 2,900-3,000 per quintal.

At Muzaffarnagar, gur Khurpa and Laddoo prices came down by Rs 100 each to Rs 2,300-2,400 and Rs 2,500-2,600, while Chakku prices fell by Rs 50 to Rs 2,400-2,600 per quintal.
 

Gur Raskat prices also moved down by Rs 100 to conclude at Rs 2,125-2,200 per quintal on weak demand for beer makers.

Coming to Muzaffarnagar, gur Pedi and Dhayya prices slumped by Rs 100 to end at Rs 2,400-2,500 and Rs 2,500-2,550 per quintal.

Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):

Gur chakku Rs 2,700-2,800, pedi Rs 2,800-2,900, dhayya Rs 2,900-3,000 and shakkar Rs 3,100-3,200.

Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,125-2,200, chakku Rs 2,400-2,600, khurpa Rs 2,300-2,400 and Ladoo Rs 2,500- 2,600.

Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,400-2,500 and dhayya Rs 2,500-2,550.
