Gur prices end steady on ample stock

The wholesale gur (jaggery) market closed on a quiet note in the national capital today with prices by and large after hovering both ends on alternate bouts of buying and selling, pegged same on last levels.

Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets also settled unchanged in the absence of necessary buying support.

Marketmen said adequate stocks and sporadic demand managed to hold gur prices unaltered.

Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):

Gur chakku Rs 2,600-2,700, pedi Rs 2,600-2,700, dhayya Rs 2,800-2,900 and shakkar Rs 2,900-3,000.

Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,050-2,100, chakku Rs 2,300-2,500, khurpa Rs 2,100-2,250 and Ladoo Rs 2,350- 2,450.
 

Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,200-2,300 and dhayya Rs 2,250-2,350.
