Gur prices crashed by Rs 300 per quintal at the wholesale gur (jaggery) market in the national capital today following pick up in arrivals of new stocks amid scattered buying by stockists.
Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets also saw a steep fall up to Rs 450 per quintal on ample stocks following heavy arrivals.
Marketmen attributed sharp fall in gur prices to surplus stocks of new gur in the market on constant supplies from manufacturing belts but scattered buying by stockists capped the losses.
