Gur prices remain quiet on sluggish demand

Muted conditions persisted at the wholesale gur (jaggery) market in the national capital today on sluggish demand amid negligible arrivals.

Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets too pegged at previous levels on a scattered buying and selling.

Marketmen said muted demand because of off-season coupled with increased arrivals, mainly kept gur prices unmoved.

Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):

Gur chakku Rs 3,600-3,700, pedi Rs 3,600-3,700, dhayya Rs 3,900-4,000 and shakkar Rs 4,000-4,100.

Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs N.Q., chakku Rs 3,050-3,350, khurpa Rs N.Q. And Ladoo Rs 3,250-3,300.

Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 3,175-3,350 and dhayya Rs 3,400-3,450.
