Gur prices remain quiet on small demand

The wholesale gur (jaggery) market closed on a steady note in the national capital today following sporadic demand amid sufficient stocks position.

Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets also displayed a steady trend.

Marketmen said sporadic demand and adequate stocks position, mainly kept gur prices around overnight levels.

Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):

Gur chakku Rs 2,500-2,600, pedi Rs 2,600-2,700, dhayya Rs 2,800-2,900 and shakkar Rs 2,900-3,000.

Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,250-2,300, chakku Rs 2,300-2,500, khurpa Rs 2,250-2,300 and Ladoo Rs 2,500-2,550.

Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,300-2,350 and dhayya Rs 2,350-2,400.
