Gur prices remain unchanged on tight supply

Gur (Jaggery) prices closed quiet at the wholesale market in the national capital today on thin demand against restricted supply.

Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets also pegged same at overnight levels in thin trade.

Marketmen said besides muted demand due to offseason, negligible arrivals from manufacturing belts mainly hold gur prices at overnight levels.

Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):

Gur chakku Rs 3,600-3,700, pedi Rs 3,600-3,700, dhayya Rs 3,800-3,900 and shakkar Rs 4,000-4,100.

Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,650-2,700, chakku Rs 3,000-3,375, khurpa Rs 2,900-2,950 and Ladoo Rs 3,125-3,200.

Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 3,175-3,300 and dhayya Rs 3,350-3,400.
