Gur prices rule steady in thin trade

Quiet conditions prevailed at the wholesale gur (jaggery) market in the national capital today with prices after moving in a tight range in absence of any worthwhile activity, ended flat.

Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets also showed a qiet trend in thin trade.

Marketmen said muted demand and negligible arrivals from manufacturing belts due to adverse weather conditions, mainly kept prices unchanged.

Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):

Gur chakku Rs 3,800-3,900, pedi Rs 4,100-4,200, dhayya Rs 4,100-4,200 and shakkar Rs 4,200-4,300.

Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,800-2,850, chakku Rs 3,350- 3,450, khurpa Rs N.Q. and Ladoo Rs N.Q.

Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 3,700-3,750 and dhayya N.Q.
