Gur prices settle muted

The wholesale gur (jaggery) market ended steady in the national capital today following sluggish demand amid negligible arrivals.

Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets also finished unchanged in the absence of buying.

Marketmen said muted demand and thin supplies mainly kept gur prices unaltered.

Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):

Gur chakku Rs 3,500-3,600, pedi Rs 3,700-3,800, dhayya Rs 3,800-3,900 and shakkar Rs 4,000-4,100.

Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,575-2,625, chakku Rs 3,150-3,250, khurpa Rs N.Q. And Ladoo Rs 3,250-3,300.

Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 3,350-3,400 and dhayya Rs 3,400- 3,450.
