Gur (Jaggery) prices tumbled Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today following bumper stocks position on constant arrivals from manufacturing belts amid scanty buying by stockists and retailers.

A similar trend also emerged at Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar markets with prices plunging by Rs 150 per quintal on increased arrivals amid selective buying.

Market players said mounting stocks following persistent arrivals of new stocks from manufacturing areas amid slackened demand, mainly attributed fall in gur prices.
