Gur prices up on tight stocks

Gur Pedi prices rose by Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today following tight stocks position amid pick up in demand.

Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets also depicted a firm trend on paucity of stocks due to adverse weather conditions registered gains up to Rs 100 per quintal.

Marketmen said paucity of stocks on thin arrivals from manufacturing belts due to adverse weather conditions, mainly brought the rise in gur prices.

In Delhi, gur Pedi prices enquired higher by Rs 100 to end at Rs 3,200-3,300 per quintal.

At Muzaffarnagar, gur Chakku and Laddoo traded higher at Rs 2,800-3,100 and Rs 2,950-3,050 instead of Rs 2,750-3,000 and Rs 2,900-3,000 per quintal.
 

While in Muradnagar, prices of gur pedi improved by Rs 50 to settle at Rs 2,800-2,850 per quintal.

Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):

Gur chakku Rs 3,100-3,200, pedi Rs 3,200-3,300, dhayya Rs 3,400-3,500 and shakkar Rs 3,500-3,600.

Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,500-2,600, chakku Rs 2,800-3,100, khurpa Rs 2,700-2,750 and Ladoo Rs 2,950-3,050.

Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,750-2,800 and dhayya Rs 2,850-2,900.
