Gur raskat prices hardened by Rs 50 per quintal at the wholesale gur (Jaggery) market today largely on the back of strong demand from beer makers amid tight supplies.
Elsewhere, other gur varieties in Muzaffarnagar, Muradnagar and in the national capital ruled quiet on sporadic demand coupled with adequate stocks position.
Marketmen said that the fall in arrivals from manufacturing belts, against frantic buying by beer and cattle-feed makers, mainly resulted rise in gur raskat prices.
