Gur raskat prices drifted by Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale gur (jaggery) market following weak demand from beer makers and other consuming industries.

Elsewhere, other gur varieties in Muzaffarnagar, Muradnagar and Delhi closed steady after moving in a tight range.

Marketmen said fall in demand from beer and cattle-feed makers mainly pulled down gur raskat prices.

In Muzaffarnagar, gur raskat prices dropped by Rs 100 at Rs 2,100-2,200 per quintal.

Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):

Gur chakku 2,450-2,550, pedi 2,550-2,650, dhayya 2,700-2,800 and shakkar 2,900-3,000.

Muzaffarnagar: Rasket 2,100-2,200, chakku 2,200-2,450, khurpa 2,150-2,250 and Ladoo 2,300-2,400.
