Gur rises on festive season demand

Select varieties of gur prices rose up to Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale jaggery market in the national capital today largely on rising demand driven by ongoing festive season.

At Delhi, gur pedi rose by Rs 100 to Rs 3,100-3,200 per quintal.

In Muzzafarnagar, gur chakku new also moved up to Rs 3,000-3,150 from previous level of Rs 3,000-3,100 per quintal.

Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):

Gur chakku Rs 2,800-2,900, pedi Rs 3,100-3,200, dhayya Rs 3,100-3,200 and shakkar Rs 3,200-3,300.

Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,650-2,700 chakku Rs 2,400-2,500, chakku new Rs 3,000-3,150, khurpa Rs 2,700-2,800 and Ladoo Rs 3,000-3,100.
 

Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,750-2,800 and dhayya Rs 2,750-2,800.
