Gur settles lower on ample supply; weak demand

Gur prices drifted up to Rs 200 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today following weak demand amid increased arrivals.

Gur pedi in Muradnagar markets also fell by Rs 50 per quintal on excess arrivals.

Marketmen said sluggish demand and increased arrivals mainly pulled down gur prices in Delhi and Muradnagar.

Bearish trend in sugar too put weigh on gur prices, they added.

In Delhi, gur Dhayya dropped by Rs 200 to end at Rs 2,900-3,000 per quintal.

Gur Chakku, Pedi and Shakkar also slipped by Rs 100 each to end at Rs 2,700-2,800, Rs 2,900-3,000 and Rs 3,000-3,100 per quintal respectively.
 

At Muradnagar, prices of gur pedi ruled weak by Rs 50 to Rs 2,600-2,650 per quintal.

Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):

Gur chakku Rs 2,700-2,800, pedi Rs 2,900-3,000, dhayya Rs 2,900-3,000 and shakkar Rs 3,000-3,100.

Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,650-2,700, chakku Rs 2,450-2,550, khurpa Rs N.T. And Ladoo Rs N.T.

Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,600-2,650 and dhayya Rs NT.
