Gur shakkar eases on sluggish demand

Gur shakkar prices drifted by Rs 100 per quintal at wholesale gur (Jaggery) market in the national capital today owing to slackened demand against adequate stocks position.

Marketmen said subdued demand against adequate stocks position mainly led to decline in gur shakkar prices.

At Delhi, gur shakkar fell by Rs 100 to Rs 3,500-3,600 per quintal.

Gur pedi (new) and dhayya (new) were quoted at Rs 3,500-3,600 and Rs 3,800 per quintal respectively.

Following are today's rates in Rs per quintal:

Gur chakku 3,100-3,200, pedi 3,400-3,500, pedi new Rs 3,500-3,600, dhayya new 3800 and shakkar 3,500-3,600.

Muzaffarnagar: Rasket 2,650-2,700 chakku 2,650-2,750, khurpa N.A. And Ladoo N.A.
 

Muradnagar: Pedi 3,225-3,250 and dhayya 3,250-3,300.
