Gur trades lower on higher supply, muted demand

Gur prices dropped by Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today following increased arrivals from manufacturing belts amid selective buying by stockists and retailers.

Muradnagar gur markets also showed a weak trend and prices fell by Rs 100 per quintal on increased arrivals.

Marketmen said fresh arrivals from manufacturing areas amidst weak demand from stockists and retailers, mainly pulled down gur prices.

In Delhi, gur pedi and Dhayya prices fell by Rs 100 each to end at Rs 3,800-4,000 and Rs 4,000-4,100 per quintal.

At Muradnagar, gur pedi prices slipped from Rs 3,600-3,650 to finish at Rs 3,500-3,600 per quintal.
 

Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):

Gur chakku Rs 3,600-3,700, pedi Rs 3,800-4000, dhayya Rs 4,000-4,100 and shakkar Rs 4,100-4,200.

Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,900-2,950, chakku Rs 3,200-3,300, khurpa Rs 2,925-2,950 and Ladoo Rs 3,000-3,050.

Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 3,500-3,600 and dhayya Rs 3,150-3,175.
