Gur weakens on arrival of new stocks

Gur prices edged lower by Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale gur (Jaggery) market in the national capital today following arrival of new gur stocks in the markets amid limited demand.

Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets also showed a weak trend and prices fell up to Rs 250 per quintal on new gur stocks supplies from manufacturing belts.

According to marketmen huge stocks following arrivals of new gur stocks in the markets against reduced demand mainly attributed fall in gur prices.

In Delhi, gur Chakku and Pedi prices quoted lower by Rs 100 each to Rs 2,900-3,000 and Rs 3,000-3,100 per quintal.
 

At Muzaffarnagar, Laddoo prices enquired lower at Rs 2,750-2,875 as compared with previous close of Rs 2,950-3,000,meanwhile, Khurpa traded lower at Rs 2,625-2,700 instead of Rs 2,700-2,750 per quintal.

However, trading commonced in gur Raskat prices at Rs 2,400-2,500 per quintal.

Coming to Muradnagar, prices of gur dhayya plummeted by Rs 250 to Rs 2,650-2,700 per quintal.

Also, prices of gur Pedi declined by Rs 200 to Rs 2,600-2,650 per quintal.

Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):

Gur chakku Rs 2,900-3,000, pedi Rs 3,000-3,100, dhayya Rs 3,200-3,300 and shakkar Rs 3,200-3,300.

Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,400-2,500, chakku Rs 2,950-3,000,

khurpa Rs 2,625-2,700 and Ladoo Rs 2,750-2,875.

Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,600-2,650 and dhayya Rs 2,650-2,700.
