Gurbani and Indian slip further in Queen Sirikit Cup

Gurbani Singh and the Indian team slipped further in the third round of the Queen Sirikit Cup at the Sunrise Golf and Country Club in Yangmei City, Taiwan today.

Gurbani, lying 12th after the second round, went down to 13th with a round of 79, while the Indian team, which was eighth, slipped to ninth.

Gurbani failed to find a single birdie in her card of 79, and her aggregate is now 228. Aditi Ashok (79) is 26th at 237 and Raksha Phadke (81) is 29th.

Meanwhile, the Australian team of Minjee Lee, Grace Lennon and Su Hyun Oh took their team to the top as they take a one-shot lead into the final round. Their total was 437.
 

Japan are lying second at 438, while Thailand, despite the efforts of Supamas Sangchan (69), were third at 439. The Indians are way behind at 462 and are ninth from among the 11 teams in the team competition.

In the individual standings, Thailand's Supamas shot 69 and with a total of 217 she moved ahead to the top with a three-shot lead over second round leader, Su Hyun Oh (74) at 217, with Korean Gyeol Park in third place at 218.

Haruka Morita of Japan (72) was fourth tied with Malaysian Kelly Tan (72) at 219 and Australia's Minjee Lee (74) is sixth at 220.

The winner of the individual section receives an invitation to the Sunrise LPGA Taiwan Championship in October on the LPGA Tour.

The championship is hosted annually on a rotation basis among 14 invited member countries with the objectives of promoting the standard of women's golf in the region and to promote goodwill and friendship among participating teams.
