Keeping in mind accidents, diseases and litter caused due to rising number of pigs here, Gurgaon District Magistrate has issued orders to get the pigs captured within the limits of the Municipal Corporation here.

The DM issued orders under Section 144 of CrPC, under which the Joint Commissioner of Municipal Corporation Gurgaon has been directed to get rid of the pigs.

The orders said that the municipal authorities would ensure that the pigs do not in any case manage to come back or are brought back within the municipal limits of Gurgaon.

The DM has observed that the number of unconfined and wandering pigs moving in an uncontrolled manner on the roads and other places including residential and commercial area has reached an alarming proportion.

Such uncontrolled presence and movements of pigs result in frequent accidents, pig bites leading to health hazards and littering of confined garbage by pigs, leading to unhygienic conditions causing health hazards which is likely to cause danger to human life, health and safety.

Because of this, DM has imposed prohibitory orders under section 144 IPC with immediate effect.
