The police today claimed to have removed the idol of 'Guru Gorakhnath' from a disputed land at Jalalpur village here.

Some people had placed the idol at the disputed land without permission, SHO V P Singh said.

A police team rushed to the spot and removed the idol yesterday, he said.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who is an ardent follower of Sanatan Hindu Dharma, hails from the Nath sect, the roots of which could be traced to Guru Gorakhnath, believed to be an incarnation of Lord Shiva.
