Thousands of devotees thronged gurudwaras across the country on the occasion of Gurupurab, marking the 545th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev, the founder of Sikhism.
Devotees in large numbers thronged the the Harmandar Sahib (Golden Temple) in Amritsar and other gurudwaras decked up for the occasion since early morning to pay obeisance.
Nagar kirtans were taken out in various towns yesterday, led by the Panj Pyaras (the five beloved ones).

Devotees paid obeisance in gurdwaras in Ambala, Kurukshetra, Karnal and Sirsa of Haryana bearing a festive look on Gurpurab, one of the most sacred festivals in Sikhism.
The 'Gatka' teams also displayed their swordsmanship through different martial arts and at mock battles using traditional weapons.
