The West Bengal government today restored the pilot and security cover for Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) president Bimal Gurung, which had been withdrawn before the Lok Sabha election in April as per norms.
"Bimal Gurung's pilot and security has been reinstated beginning today," Darjeeling Superintendent of Police Akhilesh Chaturvedi said.
"It took some time since there was a state-wide review going on regarding the need for security cover to individuals of importance," he said.
