Family members of former MLA Gurusharan Chhabra, who died during a hunger strike demanding complete ban on liquor in the state last year, today held a dharna demanding ban on liquor.
Chhabra's daughter-in-law Poonam Ankur Chhabra led the dharna at Shahid Smarak and said that the government should consider the demand for complete ban on liquor.
She also demanded that the government should accord the status of "martyr" to her father-in-law who died in November last year during hunger strike.
She alleged that the government has neglected the sacrifice of Chhabra, so the family members and supporters would hold dharnas at different places demaning complete ban on liquor.
