West Bengal Governor K N Tripathi today said the authorities should take necessary action on reports of violence in the municipal elections of Bidhannagar and Asansol.
"They should take into consideration all necessary facts and take such action, if necessary, which is permissible under the law," he told reporters on the sidelines of a programme here.
Following allegations of large-scale violence, opposition parties have demanded fresh elections to the two municipal corporations in West Bengal.
