Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik today gave his permission for initiating legal proceedings against Rakesh Dhar Tripathi, a former minister in the BSP government
The Governor has given permission to start a case under Anti-corruption Act against former minister for Higher Education Rakesh Dhar Tripathi on the recommendation of the state government, a Raj Bhawan release said.
The state vigilance organisation in its probe, had found that Tripathi possessed disproportionate assets which were over Rs 1.35 crore more than his declared income. This was around 295 per cent more than his actual income.
Tripathi was minister in the Mayawati government between July 13, 2007 and October 5, 2010, the release added.
