Bihar Governor Satya Pal Mallik and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today congratulated shooter Shreyasi Singh on winning the gold medal at the ongoing Commonwealth Games.

In his message, Mallik called Singh "a daughter of Bihar" and showered praise on the 26-year-old for "doing her state and her country proud".

"Bihar's daughter has put Prime Minister's call for 'beti bachao, beti padhao' in golden letters by winning the gold medal in double trap shooting event at the Commonwealth Games," Deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi said in a tweet.
